What HEDGR does: features for SME finance teams
Every HEDGR capability with the question it answers and the MCP tool that answers it: FX exposure, realised and unrealised FX, cash forecast in every currency, worst-case stress, scenarios, hedge cover, consolidation and Scout.
FX exposure by currency
- How much foreign currency do I owe and expect to receive, and when is it due?
- Nets open receivables, payables and foreign bank cash per currency, splits them into overdue, 0-30, 31-60, 61-90 and 90+ day buckets, and cites the invoices behind each figure.
- MCP tools: get_fx_exposure, get_overdue_drivers.
Realised and unrealised FX P&L
- How much have currency moves cost or earned me this financial year, settled and still open?
- Separates realised FX on settled invoices from unrealised revaluation of open invoices and foreign cash, and shows the effect on operating margin on a pre-FX basis so booked FX is never counted twice.
- MCP tools: get_pnl_attribution, get_transaction_log_summary.
Cash forecast in every currency, including the home currency
- Will I have the cash to pay my bills over the next one to twelve months, and in which currency do I run short first?
- Walks a running balance per currency from real bank balances through dated invoices, recurring patterns learned from paid invoices, and recurring bank spend such as payroll and tax. Foreign bills are bought from home-currency cash and spare foreign currency is sold back when the home balance would run short. Shows an expected view and a worst case.
- MCP tools: get_funding_forecast, get_cash_position, get_cashflow_forecast.
Cashflow timing and payment behaviour
- When will my customers actually pay, and how late do they usually run?
- Learns each customer and supplier pattern from settled invoices and projects settlement dates with a tested accuracy band, so a forecast says how often past payments landed inside it.
- MCP tools: get_cashflow_timing, get_payment_patterns.
Worst-case currency stress
- What would the worst currency month of the last two years do to my position today?
- Moves each currency by its own worst 30-day swing over two years, in the direction that hurts the position held after forwards, so the result is always a loss and matches the dashboard figure.
- MCP tools: simulate_scenario.
What-if scenarios
- What happens if my home currency weakens 10%, or every currency moves 5% against me?
- Runs a uniform adverse move, a home-currency move, or a named currency pair move against current exposure and existing forwards, and reports the impact before and after hedges.
- MCP tools: simulate_scenario, get_rate_assumptions.
Hedge book, cover and policy
- How much of my exposure is covered, and is any currency outside my policy band or comfort limit?
- Reads open forwards with their remaining notional after drawdowns, values them against current rates, and compares cover with the protection ratio and per-currency limits the finance team set.
- MCP tools: get_hedge_portfolio, get_policy, get_limit_status, get_protection_builder_snapshot, get_protection_candidates.
Hedging policy backtest
- How would my hedging policy have performed on my own past invoices?
- Replays the policy over settled history and reports how its cover would have changed the FX result, as a record of the past with no forecast of rates.
- MCP tools: get_policy_backtest_summary.
Currency market regimes
- Is this currency calm or volatile at the moment?
- Classifies each currency pair as Settled, Directional, Choppy or Stressed from its own recent behaviour, as context for timing questions with no rate prediction.
- MCP tools: get_market_regime.
Multi-entity consolidation
- What is my group position across several companies in different home currencies?
- Consolidates entities into one group currency, detects inter-company invoice pairs, and lets the finance team decide which pairs to eliminate before the group view is read.
- MCP tools: list_entities, get_dashboard_context.
Data quality checks
- Is my accounting data complete enough to trust these figures?
- Flags missing booking rates, unreadable bank accounts, undated invoices and other gaps, and states what each gap leaves out of the figures.
- MCP tools: get_data_quality, get_account_status, get_workspace_setup_state.
Scout, the AI FX agent
- Can I ask all of this in plain English?
- Scout answers in the dashboard and through the MCP connector from the same data, cites the records behind each figure, suggests forecast lines from recurring patterns it finds, and drafts invoices, forward rows, bank balances and forecast lines from a sentence for the user to review and save. It never books a trade or gives advice.
- MCP tools: get_fx_guidance, get_navigation_targets, get_platform_capabilities.
Desk for brokers and advisers
- Can an adviser see all their clients’ exposure in one place?
- A multi-client view for brokers, advisers and treasury outsourcers that lists each client’s exposure and worst case side by side.
- In the Hedgr dashboard.
Exports and review packs
- Can I take these figures to my bank, broker, adviser or auditor?
- Exports exposure, P&L and transaction logs as CSV and PDF review packs with the basis of each figure stated.
- MCP tools: get_export_manifest.
